Cate Blanchett was born in Melbourne on May 14th 1969. She starred in An Ideal Husband, Babel, Bandits and Bangers, among others. Blanchett has won, among other things, Oscar, Best Supporting Actress, Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress - Motion Picture and Golden Globe for Best Actress. Blanchett graduated from University of Melbourne, National Institute of Dramatic Art and Methodist Ladies' College, Melbourne. She is married to Andrew Upton. She has worked as a theatre director and a film producer, and her current occupation is actor. She now lives in Sydney.
