"Work"...for what? Studies have shown that various kinds of "meditation" can lower blood pressure and heart rate, usually by calming the body and encouraging the release of "feel good" hormones. But that's about it. There's nothing supernatural or magical about doing it. Just put yourself in a distraction-free environment, get in a comfortable position, and focus on pleasant thoughts.
