It is believed that Euclid died in Alexandria in about 265 B.C. when he was only 59 years of age. Dysentary and malaria were active illnesses in this region and at that point in history. The fact that Euclid died so young may suggest that his life was cut short by an illness such as one of these. However, all we can do is speculate because we simply don't know for sure.
