It is not weiod that they have a large population when they are only allowed to have one child, because they have so many people,and in some village in the mountains,they still have 3 or 4 children.

China's One Child Policy, although strange to a foreigner, actually makes sense. Given the fact that there are so many Han people in China, limiting the population for the dominant race ensures a healthy people (as opposed to inbreeding, like we see in Mongolia). The truth is: many [wealthy] Chinese people have more than one child. And even more Chinese minorities have more than one child. Not to mention, having a population of single-sibling children makes for an interesting culture. Kids rule here.

the reason the population is so high, but yet there are not a lot of children, is because the majority of the population is older people. No one really have a lot of children any more because they are so busy. The mom cant stay behind and watch the children, they are busy working, and so then they dont have many children.
So think about it, if everyone stops having children, then most of the population is going to be older people.
China is trying to cut down the population by not having so many children. I dont know about everyone else, but I think that it wont really work. not for a while, at least.
