Germany surrendered on May 8, 1945, but the war wasn't over yet. The War officially ended with the surrender of Japan, the last remaining axis member, on August 15, 1945.

It officially ended on September the Second. Much time after Germany surrendered, on August the 15th, Japan did too, however it only signed official documents to say it surrendered on the 2nd of September
