I am totally confused too! Everyone here (France) had pancakes two weeks ago, but Shrove Tuesday is the 8th March, and that's when you're supposed to have them, so can anyone explaine that please??? Thanks in advance!

the true name for pancake day is as shrove tuesday.Which is always so many days before good friday (easter).Easter is a moving date, so one year it may be in february ,the next is march and so on ,2011 easter date is about the latest its been for some time

Well, seing how it's the last day before Lent, and Lent is 40 days before Easter, it cannot ALWAYS be in February. Easter is later this year, since it's in April, it happens to fall at the beginning of March, the 8th to be exact.
